Tooth spacing and closure pressure

Match the tooth pattern to your sectioning task, then compare the closure and pack count before choosing a clip.

Spaced teeth and fine control

Wide Arc's rounded teeth leave wider gaps for gentle separation, while Tail Line combines fine teeth with a pointed plastic tail.

Dual Pitch places fine and medium teeth along one straight spine, offering two spacings without changing the comb.

No heat-resistance rating is claimed. Never force a comb through resistance or use it against a heated tool.

Lift and portability

Lift Pick's long parallel prongs separate and lift, while Pocket Folding protects medium teeth inside its pivoting handle shell.

Open the folding comb fully before use and keep the pivot clear; the pick is not a heated styling tool.

Working sections and flat pads

Alligator clips use long serrated jaws, while Flat Clips place broad coral pads over metal duckbill springs.

Flat pads reduce a sharp jaw edge, but no clip can promise crease-free results across every texture or section thickness.

Locking, claw and snap closures

French Barrette uses a steel locking mechanism, whereas Butterfly Claw holds a gathered section between curved interlocking teeth.

Snap Fringe Clips close through spring-steel tension for small sections; eight are included, compared with one barrette or claw.

Capacity varies with volume. Do not force a hinge closed or use a damaged spring.

Cleaning surfaces and moving parts

Clean combs gently using mild soap and lukewarm water, then dry thoroughly; avoid solvents, prolonged soaking and direct heat.

Wipe clip pads and jaws, paying attention to the hinge; dry steel springs thoroughly before closing and storing them.

Keep tools in a dry place and inspect teeth, rolled edges and closures before use to identify damage.
